Huili Feng

Huili is an award-winning architect licensed in Colorado. She is a founding partner of Tumu Studio and has more than 20 years of experience designing a wide range of projects types and scales. Her work includes urban design, commercial, interiors, educational, and residential projects. She brings each project her passion for design excellence - from concept to the detail of implementation.  A deep understanding of typologies enables her to find opportunities to enhance fundamentals while questioning conventions. She is able to bring the studio's designs to life with breathtaking fidelity through thoughtful consideration of form and relationship matched with an extensive knowledge and profound appreciation for materiality and craftsmanship.

Early in her career, Huili worked on international highrise projects at Goettsch Partners and played an instrumental role in expanding their architectural design portfolio in Asia. While working at Ross Barney Architects, Huili was in charge of the development and advancement of the design research and materials library. Her extensive knowledge of architectural systems, materials, interior finishes and furniture was vital resource to the development of projects within the firm. She played important roles in many of the firm’s award-winning projects including The Chicago Riverwalk.

Huili is passionate about community outreach and providing mentorship to college and high-school students. She has led various architectural tours and given presentations/lectures for schools and organizations. She works with many non-for-profit organizations to help them visualize their design ideas.
