Currently in planning and permit review, this project is situated on a picturesque, naturally sloped site nestled against the foothills in Boulder. The design of the two-story residence is deeply influenced by the desire to create a harmonious blend between the built environment and the surrounding natural landscape. To achieve this, the form, materials, and site planning have been carefully considered to enhance this connection. The home is designed to be Net Zero Energy, incorporating sustainable technologies such as a geo-thermal heat pump system for radiant heating, a solar array for energy production, triple-glazed windows for superior insulation, natural ventilation to reduce reliance on mechanical systems, and an air source heat pump for efficient cooling. The result is a residence that not only respects its natural setting but also exemplifies a commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
